CSE Custom Scale Editor Report History

Type Reported Platform Description Response Status
RequestJul.2010Both

I would like to be able to type numbers of units in the Tune Units window. Right now I can highlight the number field but I can't type anything, only move the sliders.

OK. I'll add typing numbers as an option.

in progress

BugJun.2010Both

It crashed at startup.

Confirmed, only for new users. It's looking for a nonextistant file held over from previous versions.

Fixed 2.4.3

BugFeb.2010Windows

I get an installation error: 'Installation of H-Pi Instruments Application Support was unsuccessful. Installation must be done manually. Inside the H-Pi Instruments folder is a folder called CSE. Please move this folder to the following location: c:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application Data\H-Pi Instruments'

Confirmed. Somehow two folders were omitted from the last server upload, causing this installation error only for new users. The files have been uploaded properly so this has been fixed in the current version.

Fixed 2.4.0

BugJan.2010Both

MIDI > All Notes Off isn't working for me.

Confirmed. The menu item was linked to the wrong method which just turned off the synth sustain pedal instead of stopping all notes.

Fixed 2.4.2

BugDec.2009Both

If I try to apply a temperament in the Quick Temperaments window before I have named and saved the temperament, it crashes.

Confirmed. It tries to get a non-existing filename for the Undo registry. I'll allow it to apply without saving.

Fixed 2.4.2

BugDec.2009Mac

My exported .csv files are not opening in Scordatura or HPLF

Yes, the line ending encoding for .csv was accidentally forced to Windows format in CSE version 2.4.0, so only Mac users need this fixed.

Fixed 2.4.1

RequestOct.2009Both

I need to be able to export .tun files without the precision part because it's screwing up the softsynth. Also I want to export Scala files as 128 notes in cents values.

OK. I will work with you to make sure these exports are what you need.

Added 2.4.0

BugOct.2009Mac

In OSX 10.6 the program crashes at startup.

Confirmed. Apple made some changes in 10.6 that are causing the crash.

Fixed 2.4.0

BugJun.2009Mac

If I have Logic open, CSE crashes when I open the Live Input window.

Confirmed. Any other software running that creates virtual MIDI ports will cause this crash.

Fixed 2.4.0

BugJun.2009Mac

I'm running OSX 10.5.7 and it unexpectedly quits and gives an Apple bug report when I select a soundfont in the synthesizer

Confirmed. Apple recently made a change in CoreAudio that is causing this crash.

Fixed 2.3.2

BugJun.2009Both

It crashes when I try to open a file

I can't reproduce this, but it might happen when you open a file with .tbx extension instead of .cse extension. It is supposed to handle both, but for some reason I am getting reports of crashing for .tbx files. So, renaming those files with .cse should solve the problem, but I'll of course fix it as well.

Fixed 2.3.2

BugJun.2009Both

The Set Bend Range window does not show the correct bend range when I have changed the bend range, saved a file, and then opened a new tuning table

Confirmed. The actual value is loaded from the new table, but the window is not showing it correctly.

Fixed 2.3.1

BugApr.2009Both

Using Command-S or File > Save sometimes brings up the Save As dialog when it shouldn't.

Confirmed. Using Undo / Redo is losing the file reference sometimes.

Fixed 2.3.0

BugApr.2009Both

I sent a tuning to TBX1 and the name display is blank.

Confirmed. Bug introduced last update, happening if the tuning name has the .cse extension included. For now you can get around it by taking away the extension.

Fixed 2.3.0

BugMar.2009Both

If I select a scale from the Scale list and choose Tune from the pop-up menu (or press the Tune button), I get directed to the 'Map Scale to Keys' dialogue box where I have to select the scale once again (the first scale is always selected by default) and press OK etc.

Confirmed. The dialog needs to appear (unless you have some idea for a different way of working? If so please use the forum to discuss) but the scale should be selected in the popup menu and it isn't. For now you just have to do the extra step.

Fixed 2.3.0

BugJan.2009Mac

I get an error that the Quicktime Synthesizer cannot be found.

Confirmed; this happened if you had been using a soundfont and then you tried to switch to the Quicktime synth using the popup window rather than the synth window, so it could be avoided by choosing sound sets from the synth window.

Fixed 2.1.1

BugJan.2009Both

It adds a blank line to the end of imported Scala files

Confirmed. The last line is no longer added.

Fixed 2.1.1

BugJan.2009Both

Confirmed. It was wrongly defaulting to keyboard size from the preferences.

Fixed 2.1.1

BugJan.2009Both

I get a message saying Recovery file does not adhere to file naming guidelines

Confirmed. If you got a crash, it createed this file. The name of that file was not updated to conform to the new naming guidelines.

Fixed 2.1.1

BugJan.2009Both

It crashes when I cancel a Scala file import

Confirmed. Instead of cancelling, you could load the file and delete it if you did't want it.

Fixed 2.1.1

BugNov.2008Windows

Entries using f= are wrong when I have A=445

Confirmed. It appears they are wrong when A is set to anything other than 440 Hz.

Fixed 2.2.0

RequestNov.2008Mac

I would like to see Hz values for my tuning entries.

OK. You can work with Hz values directly by typing the letter f in the entry to get f= after which you type a Hz value. I'll also add Hz values either as a units column toggle option or a popup menu.

Added 2.2.0

BugNov.2008Mac

The Key window cannot be reopened after I have opened and closed it once

It can be opened by clicking on the Key display. The menu select and command key will be fixed.

Fixed 2.2.0

BugNov.2008Windows

It crashes at when I Select All for keyboards other than 128

Not reproducible.

closed

RequestOct.2008Both

How about default folders for opening files and importing files, just like the default save folder?

OK. It used to default to whatever was the last place used, now it does what you want.

Added 2.1.1

BugOct.2008Mac

It crashes at startup

Confirmed for older G3 and G4 PPC macs.

Fixed 2.1.1

BugSept.2008Windows

Sending a table to TBX1 doesn't work

This version of TBXE defaults to the MIDI port selected in your Preferences when you program a table, so make sure that you set the preferred MIDI output to your MIDI interface. It works, but the next update will put output options in the program window to avoid this confusion.

Fixed in CSE 2.1

BugSept.2008Mac

I can't get any MIDI input

Confirmed. The Virtual MIDI ports are not connecting sources

Fixed in CSE 2.1

RequestSept.2008Mac

Added in CSE 2.1

Confirmed for those outside the US, using the comma as the numeric float character which is causing this problem.

Fixed in CSE 2.1

It crashes when I try to paste from the scratchpad with different numbers of keys in the selection

Confirmed. Found and fixed

Fixed 2.0

Actually this is correct, but many other octave transposition problems are being fixed in the next update

Fixed 2.0

Great idea, thanks for suggesting it.

Confirmed. Bug introduced last update

Fixed 1.2

BugAug.2007Windows

When I close the app and then open it again, it crashes.

Confirmed. This is caused when two MIDI buses are conflicting. When using the window cancel box the app now quits properly instead of just closing the window. Trying to run multiple copies of the app will crash.

Fixed 1.2

BugAug.2007Windows

The .tbx and .scl files unzip with two copies of every file, one set with underscores and the other without.

Confirmed. The files were accidentally formatted on an old Mac PPC, so they split into resource and data forks when unzipped on a PC. A new set of files zipped on the PC has been uploaded.

Fixed 1.2
