scales.
|
Confirmed.

I haven't been able to confirm this.

|
OK. I'll add that.

| Bug | Aug.2010 | Both |
I delete all shapes in a group and then the group name becomes a stray shape
(it gets changed somehow into a shape when it should be an empty group - bold goes away)
and it crashes TPXE when I try to delete it
|
Confirmed. For now, you should be able to avoid this bug by not deleting shapes.
You can make shapes in XML, using the DefaultShapes.xml file as a guide. It is in
YourHardDrive > Users > YourUserName > Library > Preferences > H-Pi Instruments > TPXE > Shapes

Fixed 1.6.1 |
| Bug | Jun.2010 | Mac |
I'm not sure if this is a bug, but if I happen to hot swap my my U-PLEX keyboard while
TPXE is running Live Input,
it gives me a bug report window. Seems I can continue without problems.
|
Confirmed. You can continue to work and there will be no problems. I'll fix it.

Could you add a split keyboard function to the Live Input so I can have two different timbres?
|
Yes. I've thought about doing this for some time.

| Bug | May.2010 | Windows |
When using with U-PLEX, the octave switching isn't working.
The number changes, but the
sounding octave doesn't change.
|
Confirmed. This had to do with the USB device recognition bug in Windows XP.
That bug is supposed to have been fixed in Vista and 7.

Could you add a sustain pedal polarity switch for the Live Input?

The ratio function. The cent difference is printed after the ratio without any + sign
|
Confirmed. It is working correctly only for negative cents errors right now.

I'm a registered user, and when I open Live Input

Could the ratio button and the shape list be somehow combined to make an
automatic 'show ratio on the keyboard' function?
|
For the master tuning, yes. I'll have to think more about this.

scroll arrows not working correctly with the chord shapes. |
They work, scrolling only within the window,
you just need to use the scrollbar or grab the overhead box ...
but I realize it is not exactly expected behavior. I'll take a look at it.
|
Fixed 1.4.0 |

The ratio
button is nice idea but it gives very high-limit values instead of
simple or common JI intervals:
215/191 for 9/8
201/181 for 10/9, etc. |
Yes. If you put in the exact cent value of 9/8,
it gives 9/8, etc. Right now it is showing exact ratios, to 0.01 cents with very high prime limit.
I'll add a cents precision and prime limit to preferences.

I would like individual user-definable note names
that you could type in the note name box instead of the usual Pythagorean
or Hunt names. Or, alternatively, an extra column for user-definable
note names / short comments.
|
Sorry, but this requires too much work - changing the interface as well as the file
format - and to boot, other note names don't really interest me; however,
I can do it if you want to pay for it. In that case, contact me by email to negotiate.

There seems to be no way to start a new tuning file
except by quitting and restarting.
|
You can get a new tuning presently
without quitting by having a 'template' tuning file
(could be the default master tuning or whatever you want) ready in your
preferred 'open' folder. Then just load when you want a new tuning, using
Open > Your Template, and then you make your tuning and save that file under a new name.
But I'll add a File > New menu item to the next update.

I want to make all the note names use traditional
double and triple flats instead of the special comma signs, but
I only know how to change the note names one at a time.
|
OK, presently the naming is only done one way - comma shifted - by default.
I'll make this user selectable, to choose Pythagorean or comma-shifted.

I wish the synth would produce simple waves like sine, triangle, etc. |
I'm working on this, but for now you can use the Basic Waveforms soundfont from the
downloads page.
Note that this soundfont has C tuned to A440 Hz, so you have to use the synth Cents Offset to get it back to C.

Entries like (14,22)+{pi} give an error. |
Confirmed. Right now, only a number can go in the cents position (at the end
of an entry, where {pi} is in the given example).
In the next update you will be able to use whatever would be a valid entry
by itself in the cents position.

Sending a table to my keyboard doesn't work |
This version of TPXE defaults to the MIDI port selected in your Preferences
when you program a table, so make sure that you set the preferred MIDI output to
your MIDI interface. It works, but the next update will put output options in
the program window to avoid this confusion. |
